This project was created as part of an assignment given to me by a leading insurance company in India. The entire project was completed in 48 hours, as the stakeholders had given me a strict timeline to ideate and develop a quick solution with sample screens.
I haven't used any of the AI tools to research as well as ideation since ChatGPT was newly introduced to the market and people were in the exploration phase of this new technology.
The ask was to design a web-based dashboard that helps supervisors track the performance of their insurance sales team.
Since this domain was new to me, I decided to do some secondary research is there any current information available about TATA AIA how it works in the company? Also did some quick research
Since there was just 48 hours, I first decided to shorten it down to most necessary steps in this project which will help me to understand the domain knowledge and secondly, try to divide those steps into an hourly basis so that I can submit at least the concepts within the delivery time.
The goal was to create an flow where supervisor can monitor the sales team members on the goal achievement. Sales KPIs
(Key Performance Indicators) are the metrics used to track sales team performance and overall business health. They are
generally attached to a company or team goal.
Started some desk research based on the market leaders insurance providers and their customers to understand their needs from these leaders. This helps me understand how these market leaders are fulfilling the needs of their customers through their services. Based on these, I can make some assumptions about how the internal tools/supervisors might give targets to their teams which can deliver the best experience to threir customers.
Based on the research, I compiled all the information and began building assumptions based on the initiative. Most of the open points were answered through secondary research. Some of the points couldn't get insights as they need primary research.
Based on secondary research, I listed down some of the indian insurance competitors to understand their needs from the platform.
Based on the insights I got from the secondary research and user flow...started exploration of the different experiences to evaluate which one would be the best fit. Key things while exploring options are as below.
Since there was limited time, I preferred paper sketches to explore multiple options instead of Figma or any other software for wireframing. Also, I feel more comfortable with paper sketches to quickly explore ideas which I can directly use in Figma for final designs.
Informative Dashboard: I tried to give all important insights on the dashboard itself as a quick view. The user will have the option to go inside each section when they want to view the report in detail.
Discoverability: Since the Sales Team might have multiple statuses during their client interactions. Usually, they follow to convert those accounts into a revenue-generating process or plan a strategy. Above all this, Search will always be there on the top to search for anything across platforms.
Clear Call-to-Actions: Use prominent and easily understandable call-to-action buttons to guide users through the application's features.
